The Aurax Eco is a high-efficiency on/off reversible air-to-water heat pump, designed to deliver reliable heating, cooling, and domestic hot water production. With outputs ranging from 25 to 710 kW, it adapts seamlessly to both small and large projects, offering year-round comfort in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. Optimized for heating, it operates down to external temperatures of –15 °C while producing hot water up to 60 °C.
All models are reversible, capable of producing chilled water for summer cooling, and equipped with a DHW circuit managed via a 3-way external valve. An optional 4 Pipe version is available for simultaneous cooling and DHW production. With its compact design, wide operating range, and use of ecological R454B refrigerant, the Aurax Eco ensures maximum efficiency, reduced environmental impact, and compliance with European incentives for sustainable heating solutions.
The Aurax Eco range covers the full spectrum of residential, commercial and industrial applications, with heating outputs from 21,6 to 708,6 kW. Three model groups make it easy to match the right unit to any project — from small homes and boutique businesses to large hotels, hospitals and industrial plants.

In the standard 2-pipe configuration, Aurax Eco produces hot water for heating in winter and chilled water for cooling in summer. Domestic hot water can also be generated in priority mode with the addition of an external three-way valve.
Antifreeze protection automatically activates the circulation pump when outside temperatures fall below a programmable threshold, ensuring safe operation in colder climates.

With the optional 4-pipe configuration, the unit gains a dedicated DHW circuit for all-year-round hot water production. This setup not only supplies heating and cooling but also recovers waste heat from the condenser during cooling cycles to provide free hot water.
Such efficiency makes it especially suitable for facilities like hospitals, hotels, sports centers, and industrial kitchens, where cooling and DHW demand occur simultaneously.
The Aurax Eco range is built around R454B refrigerant, chosen for its very low Global Warming Potential (GWP 466). Compared to R410A, it reduces environmental impact by 78%, and it is also 30% lower than R32. With zero ODP and low flammability (A2L), R454B ensures safe operation and outstanding performance in both heating and cooling, supporting the transition to a more sustainable energy future.
AIC has chosen R454B gas for the Aurax Eco range, considering the low GWP as a fundamental factor for the selection of the refrigerant. The use of R454B refrigerant, with ODP equal to zero, is the first step on the transition path towards more sustainable and, at the same time, energy efficient solutions.
The global warming potential of R454B is only 466 GWP, significantly lower than not only traditional refrigerant (-78% compared to R410) but also that of new generation refrigerants (-30% compared to R32).
Thanks to its low flammability classification, it falls into the A2L class category and can be used safely in many applications.
Due to its thermophysical properties, R454B offers optimal performance at both high and low temperatures, ensuring reliable and stable operation of the Aurax Eco in various environmental conditions.
All Aurax heat pumps operate at very low noise level as standard. However, there is an Enhanced sound proofing Option available which allows you to reduce noise output by a further 4÷5 dB (A) compared to the standard versions and includes:
Increases the efficiency and performance of the noise pollution reducing fan. Optimal with EC fans for improved acoustic performance at partial loads.
25 mm thick polyester and fibre sound absorbing cover which can be fitted on each compressor.
Aurax heat pumps are designed to meet the highest efficiency standards while allowing access to tax deductions, subsidies, and green financing schemes across Europe. Their compliance with EU legislation ensures both sustainability and financial advantages for investors. The “Fit for 55” package, introduced under the European Climate Law, sets a binding target of reducing CO₂ emissions by 55% by 2030 and achieving full climate neutrality by 2050. This aligns with the Low Carbon Roadmap 2050, which calls for an 80% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions compared to 1990 levels. A key part of this transition is the EU F-GAS Regulation 517/2014, updated in 2024, which mandates the progressive phase-out of high-GWP refrigerants, with strict bans on HFCs starting in 2027. Aurax anticipates these changes by using low-GWP refrigerants such as R454B and R290, both with minimal environmental impact. Furthermore, compliance with the Ecodesign Directive/ErP 2009/125/CE guarantees seasonal efficiency well above required thresholds, ensuring reduced primary energy consumption. By combining cutting-edge technology with regulatory foresight, Aurax heat pumps provide eco-friendly, future-proof solutions while maximising eligibility for European financial incentives.
