The Silox range of stainless steel DHW cylinders from AIC covers a wide selection of capacities, providing reliable hot water solutions for residential, commercial, and industrial applications. Manufactured using only the highest quality materials, they are designed to ensure long-term performance, energy efficiency, and durability.
At the heart of each Silox cylinder is the innovative twin wall concept: two tanks, one inside the other. Domestic hot water is produced as heat from the outer primary cylinder transfers across the entire surface to the inner DHW cylinder. This maximises the heat exchange area, resulting in faster reheat times and consistently high hot water availability.
The Silox cylinders are built around the innovative twin wall concept, where a primary outer tank transfers heat to the inner DHW cylinder across its full surface area. This design maximises heat exchange, ensuring faster reheat times and constant hot water availability. The inner cylinder is corrugated to create natural expansion and contraction during operation, producing a self-cleaning effect that reduces scale deposits and maintenance needs while preserving long-term performance.
To further enhance efficiency, Silox cylinders are insulated with CFC- and HCFC-free polyurethane foam, injected directly to guarantee uniform thickness and density. This advanced insulation minimises heat losses, outperforming even the strict requirements of DIN 4753/8. For added flexibility, models up to 1000 litres can be equipped with an immersion heater of up to 12 kW, ensuring a dependable backup source of hot water in every installation scenario.

With a state-of-the-art CNC machine park, we handle the entire metalworking process in-house – from R&D designs to bending, shaping, and welding (including laser and diffusion methods). Our laboratories ensure the highest weld quality, while a digital tracking system guarantees full component traceability. We work mainly with stainless steel, as well as titanium, copper, and other certified metals from European suppliers.
The internal heat exchanger of the Silox S undergoes passivation to enhance its resistance to corrosion. Special welding procedures and the use of 316L stainless steel, with very low carbon content and an alloy composition of chromium, nickel, and molybdenum, ensure maximum corrosion resistance while minimising any side effects of welding.
Silox cylinders are insulated with high-density, CFC- and HCFC-free polyurethane foam, delivering heat retention well below the limits set by DIN 4753/8. This ensures minimal standby energy loss, long-lasting temperature stability, and measurable savings in daily operation — even in large-capacity models up to 1000 litres.
Thanks to the Twin Wall heat transfer concept, Silox cylinders maintain uniform high water temperatures across the entire tank volume. This design prevents cold spots, ensuring hygienic operation and effective protection against Legionella bacteria.
